Rated 5 out of 5 by from My rats' favorite rat food My rats can eat this rat food all day even though I feed them fresh meat and veggies too. I ordered 3 bags online and even though due to COVID-19 shipment issue, they were shipped nicely and I've received them all (2 separate times). Thank you My Pet Warehouse!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best rat food! My rats absolutely love VetaFarm Rodent Origins. Because the pellets are small, it discourages hoarding but they’re big enough for tiny rat hands to hold. In addition to fresh veggies, Rodent Origins is the chosen staple food group for my mischief.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I have two rats and this is the best food I have found for them. They can't pick and choose what parts of the food to eat so I know they are definitely getting all the nutrients they need. It smells nice and the rats seem to like it which is a plus!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only for weekly treat I received email request to review this product again, very reluctant to make such an honestly brutal review. I am very happy with Pet warehouse service and delivery. This is an unbiased, impartial and honest product review. All pet mice/rodents owners or parents should be aware of this: My female mice developed tumours after they began the diet of this “Nutrient Enriched Food”. Before that they were on a quality brand (with less vitamins) without issues. My two pet mice developed tumour at 10 months and one had surgery to remove the growth. Unfortunately, the other mouse could not survive and passed away last week. I did not think this diet is the cause of their tumours and had continued to feed this. They were supplemented with fresh organic veggies and other treats such as salads, organic oats and muesli too. As my pets vet had raised questions, I did a little research, some vitamins are associated with developing cancer if overdosed. I had complete trust that this is an “award winning” and “most reliable source”, developed by nutritionalists and veterinarians. No doubt vitamins are powerful antioxidants. However, too high in concentrations can increase risk of cancer. For example, Folic Acid (vitamin B9) is linked to breast cancer. Some vitamins such as Vitamin E are good but overdose of vitamin E can increase body fat. I do keep a record of my mice weight, with this diet, their weight increased quite easily even though I feed small amounts. I understand it is common for mice to have mammary tumours, but I have taken this off my current pets diet. It is unclear of the amount of (dosages) vitamins (A, B group, C, D3, E, H, K) in this product. One or two or more components (vitamins) too concentrated may contributed to increase risk of cancer or other complications (in humans), let alone tumours in mice. I also ordered this product from different shops, which means different batches. It appears the quality of the pellets are inconsistent. The first pack smelled sweet with blueberry scent, the mice love it. One of other batches (other shop) was not so, the mice avoided. I tried it, practically tasteless. The current pack I bought here is like the first pack with blueberry flavour. I hope more quality pet mouse pellets can be made available in the market instead of overhyped award winning product. I hope no other pet mice have problems with tumours in young mice due to consumption of this product, that is, if this is indeed the cause of the increased risk of developing malignant tumours. My conclusion: If your pet mice/mouse have a genetic deposition to developing cancer, which means cancer genes and history of short life spans in their line, then with a highly concentrated multivitamin diet, this could increase the risk of developing cancer/tumours earlier than it should. Lastly, another friend’s male pet mouse (different specie/strain), was also on this diet. He had diabetes at 7 months old. He was very thirsty and constant drinking water. After changing his diet, the signs signs reduced. It could be genes but I now have tweaked my mice diet to increase more fresh ingredients and fibre. * Pet mice have different strains and different genetic deposition. * Pet mice are fancy mice, not feeder mice, not wild mice. * Do not feed freely aka “unlimited access” as stated. I do not recommend this product as a basic diet, maybe as a treat. All facts and information are freely available online.
